Group C: FC EREM 1-5 Bluewave Chonburi

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Yogyakarta: Bluewave Chonburi booked their spot in the quarter-finals after sailing past FC Erem 5-1 in a Group C tie at the AFC Futsal Club Championship Indonesia 2018 on Saturday.
The win puts the defending champions top of Group B with six points while FC Erem have three.

The match was a tense affair with both teams trying their best to control the game from the start. FC Erem played with the same intensity as they did against Al Sailiya on Thursday, which they won 4-1.

In the opening minute Dilshat Kadyrov came close to scoring for FC Erem but his low drive to the right was deflected by Bluewave Chonburi goalkeeper Katawut Hankampa for a corner.

In the third minute, Suphawut Thueanklang found space above the arc and the Thai ace placed his shot at the bottom corner of the net for the lead.

FC Erem were unfazed by the goal and continued to press but Hankampa was at his best and kept the Kyrgyz Republic outfit at bay.

Thueanklang doubled Bluewave’s advantage in the eighth minute when he picked up a square pass from Apiwat Chaecharoen and fired past FC Erem goalkeeper Kirill Ermolov.

The game kicked into high gear right after with both teams trading blows but Bluewave showed their clinical side just before the break when they pounced on FC Erem on the counter.

Rudimar Vanancio added Bluewave’s third with five seconds left in the half when he blasted his shot into the roof of the net from close range.

In the second half, Bluewave took control of the match and punished FC Erem further when Thueanklang found the net in the 23rd minute after picking up a loose ball at the edge of the area.

With his back turned from goal, Thueanklang made a sharp turn and his shot found its way past Ermolov to complete his hat-trick and put Bluewave 4-0 up.

Captain Kristada Wongkaeo got on the scoresheet in the same minute with a long-range effort.

FC Erem, however, did not lose hope and pulled one back in the 28th minute when Adilet Kultaev muscled his way past Wongkaeo and his strike was initially blocked by Hankampa but the ball trickled into goal.

FC Erem continued to apply pressure throughout the remaining minutes of the match as they pushed for goals but Bluewave’s packed defence foiled their wave of attacks.

Bluewave play Qatar’s Al Sailiya next on Monday while FC Erem take on Vic Vipers.

Bluewave Chonburi Head Coach Rakphol Sainetngamwas
"I'm satisfied with the way my players did today. In fact, for both our matches so far, we did well. Against Erem today, we gave the younger players a chance as this would give them the experience as we also encourage them to play their game. However, we made a couple of mistakes against Erem which allowed them to score. Almost every team we have faced play a very physical game but we have speed on our side and that gives us the advantage. Our next game is against Al Sailiya and we will be ready for them."

Group D: AGMK FC 1-9 Mes Sungun Varzaghan

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Yogyakarta: Islamic Republic of Iran’s Mes Sungun Varzaghan sailed to a 9-1 win over AGMK FC of Uzbekistan to secure their spot in the AFC Futsal Club Championship Indonesia 2018 quarter-finals on Saturday.
AGMK dived into the game with intense man-to-man marking and even matched their fellow Central Asian rivals’ intense pressing in the opening minutes.

While they looked to have the better opportunities in attempts on goal, it was Mes Sungun’s Mortteza Ezzati who opened the scoring in the fifth minute from a corner set-piece, his second goal of the tournament.

Whenever AGMK’s defence showed weakness, Mes Sungun would pounce on them, and four minutes later, Hossein Tayebibidgoli took advantage of a scramble in the box and found the back of the net, before scoring his second less than a minute into the restart.

Tayebibidgoli, the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship top scorer, turned provider in the 13th minute as he fed Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh who struck cleanly into the bottom right corner.

A minute later, AGMK moved on a counter-attack that saw Akbar Usmonov surging down the right flank where he then beat goalkeeper Alireza Samimi to reduce their deficit.

Mes Sungun’s teamwork was impressive as their movement and passes around the court kept AGMK guessing, and Saeid Taghizadeh etched his name on the scoresheet with a simple shot to the bottom right corner in the 17th minute when he found gaps in their formation.

While they were impressive as a unit, skipper Farhad Fakhim also displayed impressive dribbling footwork in the final third as he outmaneuvered two AGMK players in the 19th minute and his strike made it 6-1 going into the break at the Gor UNY.

Hamid Bigham Tabriz’s charges proved that they were deadly in set-pieces once again, as Tayebibidgoli completed his hat-trick 27 minutes into the match, before Abolghasem Orouji released a strike to claim a seven-goal lead at the half-hour mark.

In the final 10 minutes, AGMK held a solid defence and while their runs across the half-line mark showed signs of life, they lacked the finishing touch.

However, despite their best efforts, Tayebibidgoli had the final say in the match with his fourth goal of the tie in the closing 40 seconds to secure an emphatic win.

Mes Sungun will look to keep their unbeaten streak against Lebanon’s Bank of Beirut, while AGMK FC seek to end their Group D campaign with a win against FC Sipar of Tajikistan on Monday.

AGMK FC Head Coach Aleksandr Petrov
"It was our worst game, but congratulations to Mes Sungun. We have to come to the pitch with everything we have in our last game."

Mes Sungun Varzaghan Head Coach Hamid Bigham Tabrizi
"This was a good game. We knew their team would come with a certain purpose and we tried to control the game, as well as scoring. Our target is to qualify as the group winners. While we respect our opponents (Bank of Beirut), we have some strategy prepared for them."

Group C: Vic Vipers FC 2-4 Al Sailiya SC

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Yogyakarta: Qatar’s Al Sailiya picked up their first win after defeating Vic Vipers of Australia 4-2 in a Group C tie at the AFC Futsal Club Championship Indonesia 2018 on Saturday.
The win gives the Qataris hope to qualify for the next round as they lie level with FC Erem with three points while Vic Vipers are bottom.

Al Sailiya’s Hadi Jaber Al Braidi went close to scoring three minutes in but he failed to pounce on a loose ball after Vic Vipers’ goalkeeper Adam Stuart blocked Mohammad Safari’s effort from long-range effort.

A minute later, the Australians had their chance when Shayan Alinejad mistimed his shot in the box which went straight into the arms of Al Sailiya goalkeeper Ahmad Khalil.

Al Sailiya took the lead in the eighth minute when Saad Jumah Al Mohannadi’s effort from the left was blocked by Stuart but he made no mistake from the rebound to give the Qataris a 1-0 lead.

Two minutes later Al-Mohannadi missed a golden opportunity to double Al Sailiya’s lead when he missed a simple tap in from a set-piece.

Vic Vipers pressed further and were rewarded in the 13th minute when Victor Brauner’s cross from the right found Alinejad who volleyed home the equaliser from close range.

Both teams picked up the pace as they match wore on but it was Al Sailiya who benefited in the 17th minute from a corner.

Safari connected well from Murilo Zabot Silva’s delivery which left Stuart rooted as Sailiya led 2-1.

Imran Miguel Cunha’s men made it 3-1 with two minutes left in the half when Saad Bilal Al Shahwani squeezed his effort past substitute goalkeeper Christos Apostolakis, which grazed the post and into the net.

In the second half, Vic Vipers started with purpose but were unable to break down their opponents as they suffered further agony after five minutes.

Safari was brought down by the Australians and Silva scored a breathtaking free-kick just off the halfway line to give Sailiya a comfortable 4-1 advantage.

Vic Vipers, who lost 9-2 to Bluewave Chonburi in their Group C opener, however did not lose hope and fought hard to break down Al Sailiya’s tight defence.

With seven minutes left Vic Vipers activated the power play as they peppered Al Sailiya’s goalmouth with shots and were finally rewarded with two minutes left in the game after captain Jonathan Barrientos’ strike from the left sailed past Khalil.

Vic Vipers will play FC Erem in their last group match on Monday while Al Sailiya will take on defending champions Bluewave Chonburi.

Al Sailiya Head Coach Imran Miguel Cunha
"We controlled the space and the rhythm of the game. The players were fantastic even when we took the lead. We saw that they did power play, but we defended well. It wasn't perfect, but it's never perfect. The pressure is to win the game against the defending champions, and we need to score. We need to try our best, and we are not afraid. We have a good spirit within the team.

Vic Vipers FC Head Coach Miltiadis Sakkos
"We made too many mistakes, which led to the goals and the end we ran out of time. But I thought we made a good effort, we pressed as hard as we could and created chances. From a defensive perspective, at least three of the goals were our own fault. We were relying on the fact that they would get tired and we pressed but it wasn't enough in the end. The next match against FC EREM, we have to rely on having a good performance and trying to put a win together. Our job is to prepare as best as we can, and try to build on this performance. We were much better than our first game, and we will try to much better in the third game."

Group D: FC Sipar 2-11 Bank of Beirut

Saturday, August 4, 2018

Yogyakarta: Lebanon’s Bank of Beirut advanced to the quarter-finals of the AFC Futsal Club Championship Indonesia 2018 after storming to a 11-2 win over FC Sipar of Tajikistan in their Group D tie on Saturday.
In the opening minutes of the first half, FC Sipar held the major share of possession as their positioning and movements around the court kept Beirut at bay.

However, Beirut slowly found their footing in the match and regained control of the ball which allowed them to set volleys for Patrick Vieira Luz and Mahdi Javid, forcing goalkeeper Shukhrat Bibudov into making several saves.

In the seventh minute, Vieira Luz came close to breaking the deadlock when he outmaneuvered Bibudov in the box but his shot bounced off the left post and was cleared off by Dilshod Salomov.

Beirut finally found their breakthrough just moment later when Vieira Luz dispossessed Zahir Aliakbar Kamyab outside the box, which Javid then pounced on the loose ball to easily convert it from close range to claim the lead.

Three minutes later, Sobirdzhon Gulyakov was penalised for a rough tackle on Ahmad Kheir El Dine, gifting Beirut a free-kick near the second penalty spot. El Dine then unleashed an unstoppable strike from 15 metres to double their lead.

FC Sipar began to show signs of weakness in their defence, and in one such instance in the 12th minute, Bibudov blocked Karim Abou Zeid’s strike but his defenders failed to clear the ball from the danger which allowed Javid to capitalise once again and score his second of the night in the 12th minute, before completing his hat-trick a minute later, courtesy of Mouhammad Hammoud’s assist.

Jumaev Sherzod denied Beirut a clean sheet with his goal in the 16th minute but 30 seconds from the half-time whistle, the Lebanese club restored their four-goal lead with Mohamad Kobeissy finding the back of the net.

Beirut came out from the break more spirited, and less than a minute into the second half, Moustafa Serhan etched his name on the scoresheet with a slick flick-up and volley from close range.

Despite falling behind on goals, FC Sipar continued to soldier on and it paid off in the 23rd minute with Umed Kuziev scoring from a set-piece, but Vieira Luz’s goal a minute later meant certain defeat.

In the 26th minute, Abou Zeid was shown the red card after felling Gulyakov, but FC Sipar failed to take advantage of their additional attacking force as Beirut’s fifth member returned to the court two minutes later.

Kobeissy earned his brace in the 32nd minute to make it 8-2 for Beirut, which compelled Benyamin Eghbaly to bring in Salomov as their power player, but it was to no avail as it backfired when Ali Tneich scored his first goal of the tournament in the 36th minute.

Further goals from Ali El Homsi and Mehdi Koubeissi in the final 15 seconds of the match ended proceedings to secure yet another convincing win.

In Group D’s final ties, Beirut will battle for top spot with Islamic Republic of Iran’s Mes Sungun Varzaghan, while FC Sipar will look to end their campaign with a win against AGMK FC from Uzbekistan on Monday.

Bank of Beirut Head Coach Dejan Dedovic
"We gave the chance to players who didn't get to play much in the first game. They were hungry to play, and because of that, each of them wanted to score. But I'm not happy because one of our main players received a red card. We will rest now, and tomorrow we will prepare against Mes Sungun, and I hope our players enjoy the game like today. If they are satisfied, then I will be as well."

FC Sipar Head Coach Benyamin Eghbaly
"The loss was heavy, as a representative of Tajikistan. Tajikistan needs more time to change the professional clubs to become more like Bank of Beirut. We will try to get our first victory in this tournament, but it's hard because AGMK FC are good."
