There is always a first time, at least for those federations that want to foster the progress of futsal through concrete actions rather than slogans or multi-year plans that end up being scrapped for the usual vague reasons of budget.

So we're today pleased to confirm that after Germany, also Switzerland will make their official debut with the women's national team. The introduction of the team was already known since the appointment of the coaching staff in April (click here) and the first training sessions held in Bern on past June 6th-7th but now all is ready for the first ever official game vs France (more details here) in the FFF technical centre of Clairefontaine, October 3rd. Altough this will be something like a training game played behind closed doors, the game in France represent a basic step for the girls game in Switzerland.

Let's hope that after Germany and Switzerland other federations will follow the lead and take this unavoidable step. The sooner, the better!

Head coach Fabio Santona (a well known name of Swiss Futsal, former captain and then assistant coach of the men's selection, current Futsal Minerva women's team coach) has selected the provisional (to be reduced from 18 to 14 players for the French trip) roster listed below.
