yes, it's that time of the year again! We have reached the 21st edition of the Futsalplanet Awards, can you imagine a love that is so proud? But every season is a new beginning and our passion is never going to fade! Of course, we had to wait until the very end of the year before getting ready, as there were many basic tournaments still to be played in a year that has been in "stand-by" for a while, for the sad reasons you all know, and still forces us to a "different life". So that in this season it would have had no meaning to announce nominees lists before the last day of the year, but now we're almost ready to go!

Some months ago we were wondering if, in such a year, it would have been worth publishing our annual awards but the answer was almost immediate. It's clear that few games and leagues, in comparison with the "standard", were played between January and December 2020 but our intention was, is and will be the same as ever: support the game! And this must be done especially in hard times, when national FAs like England think they can "abandon" the game withouth a valid reason. We're fighting for this game since about 30 years and through this website since almost a quarter of century, so that we're not afraid to go on. But that is not a "negative" battle, we're not against "imaginary" rivals: on the opposite we're just in favour of futsal and trying to do our best to celebrate the Best Sport On Earth!

And our Futsalplanet Awards are on the stage since the year 2000 in order to respect this commitment and our love for the game, proved in so many years of "militancy". Also, they allow us to remind special people like Dimitri Nicolaou, a friend who's always in our minds and hearts.

So, get ready to start! Tomorrow we're going to release the first nominees list and, as happened in the last season, we're starting from the Best Referee in the World category! Then we will have a break and release the other eleven categories (as announced on our social network pages we have added the Best Female Club and Best Female Club Coach and we will do even more for women futsal in 2021!) starting on January 11th! After some weeks available for our jury in order to cast their preferences we will release the winners at the end of the month!
