Sangalo Launches New Ísbjörninn Futsal Club Jersey Ahead of UEFA Futsal Champions League Debut

Reykjavík, Iceland / New York, USA – Sangalo, the globally respected football apparel designer, proudly unveils the official jersey of Ísbjörninn Futsal Club, reigning champions of the Icelandic Futsal League, as the team gears up for their exciting debut in the 2025–26 UEFA Futsal Champions League. The preliminary round kicks off on 26 August.

Competition Preview
Ísbjörninn is drawn into Group B of the preliminary round, facing Tigers Roermond (Netherlands), Bajo Pivljanin (Montenegro), and Vllaznia (Albania). Their first match takes place on 27 August.

This season introduces a revamped format, including two-legged round of 16 and quarter-final ties, moving away from the single-mini-tournament elite round. The top teams will still progress to a four-team final tournament.

About Ísbjörninn Futsal Club
Ísbjörninn Futsal Club is the 4 time consecutive champion of Iceland’s Futsal League. The club was founded in 2008 by two childhood friends Denis Grbic and Hafþór Karlsson as a friends-focused 11-aside Sunday League team. The club quickly rose in reputation and recruited some top amateur talent as they dominated the Sunday League scene. Ísbjörninn first participated in the Icelandic Futsal Championship in 2017. However, it wasn’t until the 2019-2020 season that the team fully committed to futsal, thanks to the influence of their captain Rui Pereira.

Since 2020, Ísbjörninn has dominated Icelandic futsal, winning the national championship every season and securing the Ísbjörninn Futsal Cup in 2023/24. The team has represented Iceland in the UEFA Futsal Champions League three times, with their next campaign scheduled for August 2025.
