New coach, new expectations and one goal: creating a younger Romania. After paying tribuite to previous coach Robert Lupu the Romanian Football Association has announced the new head coach of the futsal national team. Former U19 and U21 national teams trainer Endre Kacso has been appointed on August 17th. 45 years old, Kacso can feature five league champion titles, six Romanian Cups and three Romanian Super Cups, all conquered with City’US Targu Mures.

In declarations given to FRF Kacso said "My appointment as selector of the Romanian national futsal team honors me. But I am aware that it is a huge responsibility, and the expectations are high. What would I promise from the beginning of my term? First of all, I will start a process of rejuvenating the national team, which in its last qualification campaigns was based on the same people who have been struggling for years. As a former coach of the U19 and U21 national teams, I know very well the potential of the new generation of Romanian futsal. I trust those who come after. We need time, that's clear, but at the same time we know that no one will be patient with us, so we need to get to work urgently and continue the work of the national team".

The first official tasks of the "new Romania" will come next year in World Cup Qualifiers preliminary round. But Endre Kacso will sit down earlier on his new bench: two friendlies vs Ukraine are planned on September 25th and 26th in a venue to be determined soon.

Szabolcs Manya (former FK Odorheiu Secuiesc player) and Mihai Tatar (former goalkeeper of City'US Targu Mures) will work in the technical staff with Endre Kacso.
