A presentation marking the launch of the Kazakhstan Professional Futsal League was held at the Kazakhstan Football Federation building. For the first time, professional futsal competitions have come under the management of a new independent organisation.
The event was attended by KFF General Secretary Scott Munn and KPFL President Talgat Kosmukhanbetov.

As part of the presentation, the parties officially signed an agreement on the transfer of the rights to organise the Kazakhstan Super League.

The heads of the organisations presented the league’s new operating model, its structure and key objectives, and provided details on how the reform will affect the development of clubs, the development of players for the national teams, and engagement with fans.

KFF General Secretary Scott Munn highlighted the project’s key objectives and explained how the new structure will contribute to the development of professional football and futsal in Kazakhstan:

“We are very pleased to have completed this project, which has been in the works for many months. For us, it is an opportunity to create a team of professionals fully focused on the development of futsal. The KFF will continue to oversee the operations of the national, youth and women’s national teams. At the same time, transferring the competitions to the league provides professional futsal with an opportunity to grow and adopt new technologies. In particular, together with FIFA, we are working on the integration of the VAR system.

Kazakhstan futsal team currently ranks eighth in the world, and we see real potential for success both in Europe and on the world stage. A higher level of professional competition leads to improved player development and, consequently, strengthens the national team. Working together with the new league’s head, Talgat Kosmukhanbetov, will provide a solid platform for moving forward.”

Meanwhile, KPFL President Talgat Kosmukhanbetov outlined strategic steps to commercialise the championship and introduce technological innovations:

“First of all, I would like to thank the Kazakhstan Football Federation for the trust it has placed in us. The creation of a professional futsal league is a great responsibility for us. The KPFL’s activities will focus on developing professional futsal, its commercialisation, supporting clubs and attracting sponsors.

In the new season, we plan to introduce video support (VAR) using six cameras, which will help referees make the correct decisions and ensure greater fairness and accuracy in decision-making. In addition, we are launching a marketing competition among clubs. We will assess and encourage teams’ efforts to attract fans, hold events and organise Matchdays.

Another key priority is the youth sector. A high-quality championship and mandatory academies within clubs, covering age groups from U-13 to U-19, will create a talent pool for Kazakhstan’s youth and national teams. The new Super League season kicks off this Saturday, and we invite all fans to join us in the stands!”
