Still dreaming about a UEFA Women's Futsal Champions League? Well, that's honestly a goal still far to come and probably watching basically the same tournament last two editions played in late 2021 with different names was not highly rated nor appreciated by Nyon headquarters. As you may remember we experienced the Futsal Women's European Champions in early December, organized and won by Burela in Lugo with some of the 20/21 continental league winners and the "traditional" European Women's Futsal Tournament (recovering the 19/20 winners edition not played due to Covid-19 troubles) hosted and conquered by Futsi Navalcarnero in Getafe.
No misunderstanding here: every "futsal effort" is worth and welcome and we're here since 25 years to support all the people who really cares about futsal, the best sport on earth. At the same time it's obvious that, in order to turn an invitational challenge into something "official", not only few clubs buth a majority of continental FA's running national women's league must be involved and cooperate to find a good and inclusive formula that may convince UEFA to think seriously about it.
So, with the same purposes, hopes and dreams will be organized the next edition of the European Women's Futsal Tournament. While the initial "rumors" were addressing the tournament to Portugal, now the main "suspect" to host the six clubs challenge is Italy. National champions Città di Falconara would therefore celebrate their first ever league title welcoming the prestigious event between December 19-22: everything obviously to be confirmed later.
According to our informations they would be fighting for the continental glory with Spanish holders C. D. Futsi Atlético Navalcarnero, Portuguese champions SL Benfica, Dutch winners Drs. Vijfje as well as the national league holders of Poland and Hungary: KU AZS UAM Poznan and DEAC Futsal.
Once all participants, details and organizational matters will be agreed and set, the organizing body will start the usual process through national FA's (allowing their clubs to take part) and UEFA (which merely approves the tournament regulations). Don't be afraid to take small steps if the goal is big.
