Once again following the Iberian road. On past July 8th Luis Fonseca Cilleros announced that he was parting ways with Saudi Arabia's FA, leaving their national team bench, together with his Portuguese assistant Estevão Cordovil.

So at that time the question was: who's gonna replace him? Some whispers in the last weeks were talking about former Barça's trainer Andreu Plaza Alvarez, who ended his experience of almost 10 years in Barcelona (spent between the "filial" roster and the A team) with one more 1° RFEF title in the grand final vs underdogs Levante.

Maybe not the only name on Saudi Arabia management notebook (Marquinhos Xavier confirmed that the Asian country probed his availability as well in his recent interview with us: click here if you missed it), but in the end the final choice is talking Spanish again: Andreu Plaza is the new Saudi Arabia's coach. More known names in the staff, like the assistant coach Alberto Arteaga, who has been confirmed from previous technical group headed by Luis Fonseca. Confirmed also Roy Blanche who will keep working as goalkeepers coach. The Spanish Daniel Berdejo-del-Fresno, previously in Libya's staff during the CAF Futsal Championships 2020, will act as sports scientist and assistant coach. The Moroccan Fouad Amrani is back in the staff as well.
