Women's U19 futsal squad to take part in Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires

From October 6th to the 18th Buenos Aires will host the Youth Olympic Games for which Clàudia Pons' team has qualified

The team, led by Clàudia Pons, will take part in the tournament, which takes place from the 6th to the 18th October in Argentina, as the Spanish Olympic Committee announced.

The players called-up to the WU19 squad are all born from 2000 onwards, thus, meeting the requirements of being Under-18 in order to compete in the Youth Olympics.

The team led by Clàudia Pons will hold a training camp from the 30th September until October 3rd in Spain and will play a friendly against Portugal during their participation.

The delegation looks to travel to Buenos Aires on Wednesday 3rd October. Soon a draw will be held in this category, from which two groups of five teams will be arranged.


QUALIFIERS FOR THE YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

The U-17 Women's Futsal Team won the ticket for the Youth Olympic Games, after defeating Russia, Kazakhstan and Romania in the qualifying phase last November.

"It's a big step forward, not just for us, but for the sport in general, I think this sport deserves to be there and we're going to give everything to set the bar high", shared the coach after qualifying.
